We are so very blessed in our lives that many of us fail to realize it. All the blessings that come our way almost become a norm or an expectation that we have. There are also those of us who fail to realize them all together. One of the most powerful tools to realize our blessings is simply reciting “thank you.” These simple words have the power to change our perspective on all things in our surroundings, preferred or not, to be something we openly welcome into our lives.
In an effort to bring further awareness to all that is great in my life, I wanted to give credit to those people who have enriched my life to some extent. These are the people that have given without seeking anything in return. It is these people in my life that I have decided to write dedicated blogs that profile these great individuals. These blogs are known as the “Genuine Souls” series.
I wanted to give tribute to man who embodies such a great energy of friendliness. A man that is so genuine that it’s difficult not to feel comfortable upon first meeting him. This is a man who beyond all the success he has had in his life, he is still eager to help others find their own success. This “Genuine Soul” is Iman Aghay.
In our new friendship, Iman has really stood out as someone who is definitely worthy of the “Genuine Soul” title. The best word to define him is benevolent. His kind and compassionate demeanor is hard to deny. I have yet to see this man speak without smiling. His natural energy radiates such a calm and endearing presence that it has the power to turn a hurricane into a gentle breeze.
Iman is the cool breeze on the hot day!
As a very successful business man, he owns Success Road Academy; which is one of the largest information marketing academies in the world! He teaches people how to share their message to make a positive difference in other people’s lives while living their own life purpose. So many of us get caught up in chasing the dollar that we miss out on the things that are meant to fulfill us at a spiritual level.
“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” – Mark Twain
When venturing off into any business, it is very crucial to understand your “Why;” your reason for doing what you do. Iman’s “Why” came from observing his father’s work ethic. His father was an entrepreneur that worked 16 hours a day. There were times where he wouldn’t see him for 3 or 4 months.
All work and no play.
As a teen, Iman started questioning everything and asked his dad, “When do you want to stop working this hard?” His plans were to retire and travel the world in an RV when Iman turned 18. Unfortunately, his father died from a disease called ALS before retiring. This ignited a fire within Iman to help entrepreneurs build a business that allows them to realize their dreams and to be in alignment with their life purpose.
“Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people don’t, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can’t.” – Unknown
Iman has always been an entrepreneur, he never had an employee mindset where he felt that he needed a job. He believes being your own boss was the only way to live life. Because of his dad, Iman never wanted to be locked down to job where he cannot enjoy the riches life has to offer.
“Your best teacher is your last mistake.” – Unknown
The road to success was a bumpy terrain for Iman; his first business went under in 3 months. He immediately started his second business which he sold after 5 years. With great ambitions to be an international speaker and a best-selling author, he decided to move from Iran to Canada. This was definitely a struggle considering he didn’t speak English!
“Life is what happens to you while you‘re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon
Iman had the same experience with his money, as one would when their luggage doesn’t meet them at their destination. He was hoping his money from Iran would follow him to Canada, but this didn’t go as planned. On the verge of being homeless, after a year of financial woes, he had enough money for one month of rent, or a ticket back home.
“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill
His wife urged him to stick to the plan. Today he runs the largest business meetup group in Canada and one of the top 10 in the world called the Vancouver Business Network. This gives him a stage where he can share value-added ideas as a speaker.
“The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.” – Walter Bagehot
As a challenge, Iman went to 3 cities with intentions to create a business that generates a 6 figure income, while only spending 4 days in each new city. The cities he selected had to be ones where he had never been and where he doesn’t know anyone. In the end, his business strategies proved to be effective.
His success also extends into his personal life. He lost a staggering 48 lbs in 100 days! Iman’s dedication to excellence and teaching others to live their lives purposefully, makes him worthy of the “Genuine Soul” title. Thank you Iman for enriching my life with your endearing demeanor. You are truly the epitome of benevolence.
